Independent African artists aged 18+ who meet the programme’s eligibility requirements and are ready to develop their music careers can apply

Funding varies by edition. In Rise Fund Vol. 2, the three winners received $500, $300 and $200, respectively. Check the current edition’s announcement for its funding details.

The Rise Fund provides grants, not conventional loans. Winners are not expected to repay their awards, subject to the programme’s official terms.

Funding should support your music career, including eligible expenses such as music production, marketing, promotion, content creation and music video production. Any restrictions will be communicated to selected artists.

Payment arrangements and timelines will be communicated directly to the winners. Selected artists may be required to provide verification details before payment.

Artists participate in the programme’s selection process, which may include performance-based criteria, audience engagement and editorial evaluation. Check the current edition’s rules for the applicable scoring criteria.

Winning the Rise Fund does not automatically transfer ownership of your music to Josplay. Any additional rights or contractual obligations must be clearly stated in the applicable agreement.

Selected artists will receive communication from the Rise Fund team outlining the next steps, applicable requirements and arrangements for receiving their awards.
